Domains and Practice Standards for Level 1, Level 2
|Math Domain||Practice Standards|
|Day 1||Think About It!||Focus on thinking about the problem-solving process.
The goal is to understand the process of solving a problem more than finding the solution.
|Day 2||Solve It!||Solve a routine problem based on the thinking process from Day 1.
Think about the information given in the problem, decide on a plan, and solve the problem.
|Day 3||Visualize It!/
|A visual representation (e.g., number line, table, diagram) is shown as strategy for solving a problem.|
|Day 4||Draw It!
Solve It Two Ways
|Solve a problem by drawing a picture or using a visual model. Student use the same strategy as shown in Day 3 or may choose their own strategy.
Solve the same problem two ways by applying the strategies they have learned. Be asked to analyze and explain which way is correct or state the error or misconception.
|Day 5||Challenge Yourself!||Students are presented with a multi-step, non-routine problem.
